Asheville Clinic - Spring 2004 |
Del was invited to come
to Asheville, NC and work with some of the instructors of the Free Rein
Handicapped Riding Program. Julie Robins, the manager at the time,
wanted the instructors to learn some safety techniques that would help
them in handling the horses that work in the program. |
Each instructor had an
assigned horse to work with during the clinic. |
The instructors' most
important job is being able to handle the horses on the ground quietly
and effectively. They learned ground techniques that not only
carry over in the saddle work but give them more control over the
movements of their horses. |
It was a great clinic
and everyone learned a lot about how to communicate better with the
program horses. Good Luck to everyone at the Free Rein Program. |
