Savannah Clinic -
Spring 2003 |
 |
We
had a wonderful clinic in Savannah
this spring. The weather was great and the horses and
riders were wonderful to work with. All of the riders had ridden with
Del
before, so she was able to work with them on some continuation skills
including some seat work and individual work as well as some advancing
ground work.
|
|
The riders worked in pairs in the
round pen to receive individualized attention.
|
|
 |
Attention was also given to
specific problems that arose, as unexpected as they might be……
Riding this gait is not fun for
the rider, so we go back to basic ground behavior and solve the problems
that might be causing this before we go back to riding.
|
|
Del
and her mare Ellie worked with this horse so that he could understand
better what was expected of him.
Then he and his owner
went on to do some great riding for the rest of the weekend without
incident. |
|
|
Sunday morning
was spent in the arena.
The group worked on
some of the ground work.
|
|
And
even working on overcoming obstacles.
|
|

After a long weekend
of working with horses and people,
Del
’s horse, Ellie decided to take Sunday
afternoon and do a little snoozing before the long trip home. Deborah
Thorne’s horse, Spring is taking a break,
too. It was a truly great weekend for all. Horses
and riders had a great time and made a lot of progress.
We look forward to another clinic in
Savannah
soon.
