Southern National Expo - Summer 2002

Del and 4 associates, some Dave Seay apprentices, some students, were proud to be a part of the Southern National Expo for 2002 in
Perry, Georgia.

This was a great opportunity to let people know about Progressive Horsemanship and how it applies to every day life with your horse and how to use it in any discipline for any level of riding.

They demonstrated the technique in the Reeves arena each day.

Plus Del did an additional demonstration in the Purina Arena at McGill Marketplace building on Saturday and Sunday.

Deborah Thorne came with her horse Amber, Jan Little with her horses Eugene and Daisy, Tisha Garren with her horse Magic and Julie Robins with her horse Maggie.

They did a super job of demonstrating all levels and all disciplines of riding and ground work as their horses and Del’s horses covered all ages and all breeds.  There  was Amber, a Quarter Horse; Eugene, a TB/Holsteiner cross; Daisy, a QH Paint; Magic, an Arabian and Maggie, an Arabian.

On Friday and Saturday evening Del was asked to be a part of the evening show.  There was the opportunity to have some fun.

On Friday evening Del did a bridleless  ride on her TB Micki.  Del and Micki had fun and the crowd enjoyed  watching Del and Micki “play” around.

On Saturday evening Del was joined by the rest of the group for another 10 minute demonstration of Progressive Horsemanship.

Again, they took the opportunity to  “play” around with their horses.

Jan Little did some advanced leading without a halter with her 3 year old Paint filly. Showing that horse and human can be “connected” without a rope.

Deborah, Tisha and Julie, “danced” with their horses on the halter showing how horse and human can be “connected” with a rope and not be pulling or battling.

While they were “dancing” on the ground with their horses, Del was riding her horse bridleless.

It was great fun and the crowd enjoyed seeing horses and humans having fun together just playing around.

There was also fun at the booth in the McGill Hall where all the exhibits were set up.   Each day there was a giveaway drawing and on Friday,  there was a raffle drawing.

The top prize giveaway was a Will Howe balance board provided by Kimberly O’Dell, who is the east coast distributor for the boards.  Other prizes included, bits, rope halters and NH T-shirts.

At the Sunday drawings the audience was asked to participate and the youngsters in the group were asked to do the drawings.
