I started with Del 2 or 3 years ago, because of working with her I am able to understand why a horse sometimes does what it may do.

She is kind, patient and really understands the relationship of the horse and man/woman.  She breaks it down so that we understand the meaning of natural horsemanship.  Her teachings make a lot of sense.  My horses are calmer, enjoy being ridden, and feel they can survive.

I was able to return to my Father's ranch and take half wild yearlings and gentle them to the point where you could groom, catch them in a pasture with a twine, lift their feet to clean them, bath them, and etc.  I used Del's method of training to get them to understand that they would not have to flee and could continue on life without feeling like they would die. She made me understand that by taking my time and having patience my horse and I could come to an understanding.

I just marvel at the way she has been able to take horses, such as Ellie and do what she does with them. Her style of training works.  I just wish everyone did what she is teaching. I recommend highly to anyone if you are having trouble with your horse, attend her workshops and clinics, I promise you won't be sorry.

I have been around horses for over thirty years and will ever be grateful to Del Wideman for what she has given me. Her patience and tremendous gift of teaching both horse and rider, has given me the opportunity to connect with and enjoy my horse in such a way that I never knew was possible. We truly have a relationship and a bond that can never be replaced. Del, among so many other things, has taught me the difference in my horse tolerating being with me and wanting to be with me.

My life was a rollercoaster of attending top national trainer clinics and expos throughout the U.S., seeking answers for my horse's difficult behavior.   So difficult, in fact, that some of the top national trainers in the country told me my horse needed to be destroyed.

Attending clinics with a “difficult” horse can be a brutal experience but, in all my travels and experiences to seek answers, I have never seen anyone connected with horses have such a God given talent as Del possesses without humiliation or degrading the owner in the process.  She is not only gifted but includes the owner in the training experience in a very compassionate way.

Many trainers exclude owners hoping to ensure their further cash flow.  Your purse doesn't drive Del; making your relationship with your horse incredibly wonderful drives her.  It is our good fortune, Del is in our lives.  It’s no exaggeration to write that Del probably saved both of our lives.

My horse has been on several trail rides including wood bridges, water falls, rivers, creeks, deer, traffic, bicyclist to name a few.  He's become one of the best trail horses that I have ever ridden and he's only 3 yrs old.

It is no doubt that none of this would have been possible without MAKING THE CONNECTION with Del and Progressive Horsemanship.  Through Del’s influence, she has completely transformed a green “difficult” horse and a green owner to the point I am writing a book called “Green on Green” for the benefit of others finding themselves in my situation.  Unfortunately, words can never express how Del has changed our lives or what she means to us.
